Paragould Arkansas Weather

In the afternoon of May 2, 2008, a cold front approached the Midwest and numerous showers and thunderstorms developed in front of the front. The storms continued throughout the day, with severe storms possible in parts of central and eastern Arkansas.

The tornado moved east of Randolph County into Greene County and eventually into Dunklin County, Missouri. While the Jackson County tornado was at ground level, it toppled more trees and power lines than any tornado in Arkansas history. The tornado moved eastward toward the northeast, where the storm lifted off the ground on its way northeast. It continued east-west through Greene and Randolph County and finally to Dunklins County (Missouri).

As the tornado reached its peak intensity and width, homes and barns were extensively damaged. The tornado was moving northeast of Carroll's Corner and was touching down on the eastern side of the county in the town of Greenville, Arkansas, about 30 miles east of Jackson County.

US 412 leads 14 km east, West 42 km west of Walnut Ridge, south 32 km southwest and north 24 km.

The daily highs range from 54.5 to 58.5 degrees. (12 - 5 degrees), which feel comfortable in humidity and wind. Given the humidity, the temperature feels good for this year, with a good chance of rainfall in the middle of the year. It rains at the end of March, but the weather stations report that the chance of rain in the first days of April is only 1% and snow in early May is 0%.

For precipitation, I looked at snowfall that had accumulated over a sliding period of 31 days centered on one day of the year. Independent values were calculated for the perceived temperature, humidity, wind speed and precipitation, as well as the probability of rain.

The mean wind speed was less than 1.0 km / h during the hour, and the mean wind direction was in one of the four directions during that hour. Wind speeds of more than 2.5 miles per hour in a north-south direction I ruled out. The wind was blowing at least 1,000 feet above sea level and no more than 3,500 feet below.

The windiest part of the year lasts 7.1 months, the quietest 1.5 months. The windy day this year is April 1, but the quieter day of the year was July 29, so it is considered a light breeze.
